ACCREDITATION

The Accreditation Unit functions as Brunei Darussalam’s National Accreditation Body, responsible for establishing and maintaining an impartial, credible and internationally aligned accreditation system.

Accreditation involves the assessment of the competence and impartiality of an organization (Conformity Assessment Body, CAB) such as a testing/calibration laboratory, inspection body, certification body or validation/verification body and the compliance of their services to nationally and internationally recognized standards or schemes.

Accreditation Service and Scheme provides a symbol of credibility and trust for quality and safety by developing and implementing an internationally recognized accreditation system and scheme to support the accreditation needs of the CABs as well as the needs of industry and the nation.

The Accreditation Unit operates under the Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam (PSABD). It is responsible for delivering accreditation services and developing national accreditation schemes with the support from National Accreditation Committee (NAC) and in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Majlis Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam (MSABD).

Through MSABD, strategic oversight is provided to ensure impartiality, uphold governance principles, and guide the systematic and progressive development of Brunei Darussalam’s national accreditation framework and system.

The accreditation schemes are currently under development and will be made available in due course.
